Mr. Ogilvie’s commitment to his community began at an early age when he achieved Eagle Scout status in high school. After college, he served his country in the Vietnam conflict with the United States Army, and was awarded the Bronze Star. After returning to Lancaster, his home town, he continued to serve the Fairfield County community in multiple organizations, including:

- Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, Past-president (received the Floyd Wolfe Community Service Award in 2005)

Norman J. Ogilvie Jr. was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Northwestern University, in Evanston, IL. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in Columbus, Ohio.
Mr. Ogilvie and his wife reside in Lancaster, Ohio, and have three children and ten grandchildren.

Proven Experience in Family Law
Ms. Parrott has nine years of experience in domestic relations and criminal defense work while at Dagger Law. While attending Capital University Law School, she was employed at the Franklin County Probate Court as a law clerk. Her extensive experience in probate matters, and the inner-workings of the court system allow her to provide trusted legal counseling, and advice, to her clients.
Ms. Parrott serves as a Juvenile Law Instructor at the Ohio University Summer Law and Trial Institute and is a member of the Ohio Supreme Court Juvenile Rule Work group. Other affiliations include:

As a lifelong resident of Lancaster, Ms. Parrott is actively engaged in the Fairfield County community through multiple service organizations, including:

Ms. Parrott graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s Degree in political science. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the Capital Law School with a concentration in children and family law. She is the first female partner at Dagger Law since the firm’s founding in 1902.

Mr. Everitt is licensed to practice in all state courts in Ohio and the Southern District of Ohio (U.S. Federal Court). Additionally, he is a licensed title insurance agent in the state of Ohio. Appointments with Mr. Everitt can be arranged in our Lancaster office.
A Lancaster native, Mr. Everitt left the area following his graduation from high school to attend The United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Following his graduation, he was commissioned as a Naval Officer and began a career of military service. During his 24-year Naval career, he served around the globe as a nuclear-trained Submarine Warfare Officer and held numerous positions including Operations Officer for Navy Recruiting District Ohio, Professor of Naval Science at Purdue University, and various Officer in Charge positions with Navy Reserve Units. During the final period of his naval service, he was transferred back to central Ohio which allowed him to pursue his law degree by attending Capital University Law School while also working full time. Mr. Everitt joined the firm in 2014 and retired from the United States Navy in 2019.

Mr. Everitt was selected to be a member of the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s 2021 Fellows class, an organization dedicated to advance the law and build a better justice system. In 2017, Mr. Everitt was recognized for his dedication to the community and selected as Young Professional of the Year by the Lancaster-Fairfield Chamber of Commerce. He has previously been recognized as Volunteer of the Year by Rotary and was awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.

Mr. Everitt graduated with honors from The United States Naval Academy in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in political science. He also holds a Master of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University in Virginia and completed graduate-level coursework in political science while assigned to Purdue University as a Professor of Naval Science. In 2013, Mr. Everitt received his law degree from Capital University Law School, where he served as the Vice President of the student bar association.

Nicholas R. Grilli graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a B.S. in finance and a minor in political science. He received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. In law school, he was inducted into the Order of the Curia and was the recipient of the CALI award for excellence in corporate counsel.
A native of Lancaster, Ohio, Mr. Grilli and his wife reside with their children in Canal Winchester, Ohio.

Mr. Shonk’s focus on financial matters and business affairs, for over 30 years of his legal career, has allowed him to be a valuable legal resource for many local and regional companies around Central Ohio. In addition, his compassionate approach to probate matters has made him a trusted advisor to families and individuals who need legal assistance with estate planning, trusts and probate matters.
Mr. Shonk has presented continuing legal education seminars, covering such topics as bankruptcy and mechanic’s lien issues, to both trade organizations and outside attorney organizations. He has published articles on labor laws issues that have been featured in law journals.
