Mr. Riegel received his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Wittenberg University, and his law degree, cum laude, from The Ohio State University in 1977.

He has a litigation practice including personal injury, wrongful death, insurance claims, defective product claims, business disputes, and eminent domain suits. His practice also covers oil and gas leases and litigation, estate planning, and probate.

Mr. Riegel has written and lectured on the evaluation and settlement of personal injury cases for attorney seminars. He belongs to trial associations and has significant jury trial experience. He obtained the largest damages verdict in Fairfield County, $2.8 million, in a summary jury trial involving wrongful death and personal injury. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which is the most prestigious group of trial lawyers in the United States, as membership is limited to attorneys who have won multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements (less than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members).

Mr. Riegel has served on the boards of the American Red Cross, Fairfield County Aids Task Force, Student Mediation Support Board, and the Lancaster Festival. He also assists with a land trust in Southeast Ohio, drafting conservation easements.
