Mr. Happeney received his B.A. degree from Miami University. He graduated from law school at The Ohio State University College of Law in 1985.

He is engaged in the general practice of law with emphasis on family law, civil litigation and adoption. He has successfully handled thousands of domestic relations matters ranging from simple dissolutions to complex divorces involving cases in excess of 30 million dollars in assets.

Mr. Happeney has been recognized as an Ohio State Bar Association Certified Specialist in Family Law since 2003. He was selected by his peers as an Ohio Super Lawyer by Cincinnati Magazine in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He is a member of the Fairfield County, Columbus and Ohio State Bar Associations.

Mr. Happeney is a native of Circleville, Ohio. He was the Solicitor for the Village of Bremen from 1988-1994. He has served on the boards of directors for the Lighthouse and the Robert K. Fox Family Y, where he served as president for two years. Mr. Happeney served as Chair of the Fairfield County Bar Association Domestic Relations Committee from the inception of the Fairfield County Domestic Relations Court in 1995 until 2008.

Mr. Happeney resides in Lancaster with his wife, Marcy, and their three children. He is a member of the Safari Club International and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He is an avid outdoorsman and has hunted around the world, including Alaska, Canada, Africa and New Zealand.
